They support people to work their way out of homelessness, providing meaningful work, training, support and a stable home for as long as someone needs it. We launched an intuitive series of websites for them that will facilitate communication and interaction with all audiences.
The websites needed to be more effective and accessible for its users, and with links out to a host of multiple community sites, the CMS needed to be customisable and simple for all communities to use and customise. Many associated organisations require direct communication with the charity to enable the best outcome for the person in need, and the old site was no longer fit for purpose. We ran a number of stakeholder and end user studies to evaluate the current and optimal user experience and working with the Emmaus brand assets we designed and built a new network of websites that could meet the varied demands of engagement with Emmaus, and its unique federated structure.
From communications, monetary and clothing donations, arranging furniture collections, planning rehousing and homeless support applications – the users of the website vary in age and ability so a simple interface was essential, despite the large-scale functionality of the website. Donations, conversions and site dwell times are up, and we continue to work with Emmaus, improving the site month by month via AB split testing and iterative design.
