For the past 10 years Project Simply (https://projectsimply.com) has worked alongside some of the leading Festivals, Venues and experience destinations, creating amazing digital experiences. We are a leader in our field and work with brands such as Parklife, Second Home and Destination Outpost. We’re a small team of musical enthusiasts, looking to help support the industries we love.

We also have our own festival and event web product, called Plot (https://builtwithplot.com) . Plot is a web system that allows for the swift production of gorgeous branded festival and event websites. It provides tools for our design team to create fully branded sites quickly and efficiently. It also provides a modern, progressive user interface for customers to manage their event website and ticketing.

This role is a dream role for a Senior Full Stack developer looking for an exciting opportunity to work in the sector they love. We’re a small, enthusiastic team, growing an agency and product that we adore, for clients we love.The work we do is exciting, very creative and so you’ll get the opportunity to work alongside some of the most innovative and creatively minded businesses on the planet.

Initial Goals…

You will be tasked with helping shape the development landscape for our agency and all client work. We sit in the festival and event market, so we expect dedication and love for the sector, and a creative mind to come up with new ideas, amazing development and an ability to communicate and present these to clients and internal team members. We’ll want you to head up a small development team (consisting of two currently).

What you’ll be doing…

A very varied and exciting role, you’ll be tasked with using your development skills to lead and work alongside the dev team to conceive, produce and deliver well thought through development planning as well as amazing bleeding edge development. You’ll work closely with the creative teams and the head of UX, helping them to bring their ideas to life with beautiful code, animations and movement. You’ll also be:

  • Creating scalable, progressive, modern web applications and coming up with new and exciting ideas to solve problems
  • Working with the Creative Director and Head of UX to create effective processes and planning strategies for the development team
  • Assisting with planning and roadmaps to help the project progress towards launch
  • Implementing a test driven development ideology
  • Suggesting new features and ideas for continuous improvement

The Skills/Experience we’re after…

We plan to work remotely with occasional in person meetings, so you’ll have to be comfortable with that for the long term. Our office in the centre of Manchester’s Northern Quarter is always open, with a shared desk space.

We’d like you to have

  • 5 years min Full stack experience at a high level
  • 3 years experience in heading up a development team
  • Strong commercial experience
  • Deep knowledge working with Laravel and Vue JS
  • Experience in leading the development on projects
  • Ability to think of great ideas and get buy in from clients and team
  • Strong HTML5 Skills
  • A love of music and design
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written

A nice to have

  • An understanding of AWS or similar
  • An interest in Data Visualisation
  • Figma experience
  • Git knowledge
  • Experience in Agile methodologies
  • A love of bleeding edge early adoption
  • A desire to create and experiment
